OK, I'm looking to buy mobile speak, but I'm not sure which voices to get. I don't like the "standard" voices much, but I'm concerned that acapela and Loquendo will lag and slow down the responsiveness of my phone. Any suggestions?

yeah hold off and see if mobile speak 4 improves on the issues you mentioned above.

I thought that maybe there was a topic like this earlier on in the boards, but I looked 4 or 5 pages back and didn't see one. SOrry if this is similar to another topic posted by someone else. My idea is to maybe purchase Loquendo and the original voices that used to come with MS just in case Loquendo ran too slow. LOL,

Very good idea actually, I like the Loquendo voice for basic use but when I want to do serious reading or internet browsing, I usually go back to good old phonix. While not as appealing to the ear, it can speak at extremely fast speeds when necessary.

OK, I like the Loquendo voice because sometimes I don't want to here a monotoned voice all day. I get that enough with jaws, so... yeah!

Well I'm with verizon, and as far as I know, vZW doesn't support talks unless you get the HTC Ozone, so... i kind of have no other options!

so just get it now and update when the update comes out

Of course, When I buy the mobile speak/geo bundle, I will be able to update when the update comes out. I was just saying that mobile speak happens to be my only option if I am going to stick with VZW unless I buy the Ozone w/talks already installed on it which I don't know much about talks so... yeah, but what I have heard, it's not been good for the people I know that have it.

yeah from what i have read on here talks for windows mobile isn't ready for prime time just yet. Another option to look into is the new Droid thats on Verizon wireless. There are a couple of open source screen readers freely available so may be worth the 30 day trial to see if thats accessible enough out of the box for you.

Nah, from what I hear, they aren't up to scratch yet. Meaning, they're underdeveloped.

OK, so I've made the decision to go with just the loquendo voices for now, and if need be, I'll buy another set later. Thanks for your help guys.:)
